Have you ever wondered why we wait for New Year’s to make resolutions?

Why not April or September?

I ditched “New Year’s” resolutions a few years back.

I like to keep the timing of my resolutions flexible in case I need one in April or July.

Case in point: in August 2017, I committed to really digging into growing my business. I applied for 5–10 jobs on Upwork “every” day until I built a large enough clientele to support a comfortable lifestyle.

If I had waited until Jan 1, 2018, I would have missed out on two clients who have paid me monthly for my services to this day (that’s a lot of dough).

And then again on December 15, 2020, I decided to double down on my health after having the C word.

I committed to tracking calories. Went from 232 through the Holidays, with every food temptation known to man thrown at me, to 212 in March 2021. And I’ve kept it off — I’m still hovering around 212.

Had I waited just 16 more days, I never would’ve known it was possible to pork it up during the Holidays AND lose weight.

Resolutions can happen any day.
